The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) is accepting online applications for the Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE) 2024. This exam is for students seeking admission to polytechnic or diploma courses in all government and private colleges. Eligible candidates can apply online at the official BCECE Board website bceceboard.bihar.gov.in starting from 12th April 2024. Please read the full notification carefully before applying.
(BCECEB) Overview 2024:
The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has announced important dates for its upcoming exams. You can start registering from April 12, 2024, and the last date to register has been extended to May 21, 2024. If you need to pay the fee online to do it by May 22, 2024. You be able to edit your application between May 24 and 26, 2024.
The admit cards will be issued on June 13, 2024. The exams are scheduled as follows: PE on June 22, 2024, and PM & PMM on June 23, 2024.
The application fee varies depending on the number of courses and your category.
For one course:
- General/BC/EBC: Rs.750
- SC/ST/DQ: Rs.480
For two courses:
- General/BC/EBC: Rs.850
- SC/ST/DQ: Rs.530
For three courses:
- General/BC/EBC: Rs.950
- SC/ST/DQ: Rs.630
You can pay these fees either online or through a challan.
There’s no age limit for PE. For PMM, you should be between 15 and 30 years old as of December 31, 2024. For PM, the age limit is 17 to 32 or 35 years old as of the same date. Check the notification for age relaxation details.

Bihar Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria 2024:
- Polytechnic Engineer (PE): You can apply if you passed 10th grade or an equivalent exam from a recognized board or institute. Even if you appearing for these exams, you are eligible.
- Para Medical (Secondary Level) PMM: You need to have passed 10th grade or an equivalent exam with Science and English from a recognized board. Candidates appearing for these exams can also apply.
- Para Medical (Intermediate Level) PM: You should have passed Intermediate Science or an equivalent exam for Diploma in Pharmacy with Physics, Chemistry, English, and either Mathematics or Biology.
- GNM (Grade – A General Nursing and Midwifery): This course is only for women. You need at least 40% marks in 12th grade science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and English. SC and ST candidates get a 5% relaxation in minimum marks. If you passed the Intermediate Vocational Nursing Course with 40% marks from a recognized institution, you are also eligible.
- ANM Course: Candidates who have passed 12th grade or an equivalent exam with 40% marks can enroll in this course.
- ANM (Nursing): This course is only for women. You need to have passed 12th grade or an equivalent exam with 40% marks. English must be a subject.
- Other courses: You can appear in this test if you passed 12th grade or an equivalent exam in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. For the Ophthalmic Assistant course, passing Intermediate in Science or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English is mandatory.
- Dental Mechanics and Dental Hygienist course: You need to have passed 12th grade or an equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
- 2024 applicants: If you appeared in the 12th grade or an equivalent exam in 2024, you are eligible for this competitive exam, but you must pass before the merit list is published.
